Review of American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules

A number of aspects have changed since the first installment of the American Pie series was released in 1999. The most recent American Pie movie, American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules, has a similar storyline where a group of teens explore the joys of youth.

This latest female-centric take on the movie, has been quietly dropped to Netflix. The movie stars Madison Pettis, Lizze Broadway, Natasha Behnam and Piper Curda.

The movie has been made available on Netflix after being released in the DVD and digital formats. It revolves around a bunch of high school students who are on a mission.

People who have watched this movie have been discussing it on social media, and their opinions are highly divided.  The movie has garnered both harsh and positive reviews. While some are claiming that this movie is the funniest of all-American Pie films, some are regarding the movie as utter trash.

Many discernible fans are saying that “American Pie” has evolved as if they are expecting it to change society or something. The 1999 film was a huge hit and cannot be called a mistake. However, it doesn’t matter how many dollars you make; a ‘spineless film is a spineless film.’

Well, let’s cut to the chase. The ninth film of the franchise “American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules” has been released in the DVD format on October the 6th, 2020.  The reviews are out and unfortunately (not surprisingly), they are not looking good.

But, to be fair with it, none of the American Pie films has ever been critically raved. Let me break the suspense for you; these are the films that are made only for the sake of money.

If you need some idea about the ninth disaster in the franchise, it deals with four girls Annie, Kayla, Michelle, and Stephanie in their quest for power which they aspire to attain by using their flawless female characteristics.

So, the misogynistic attitude has changed. That is appreciable.

However, the lack of imagination, lewd jokes, and cheesy lines are the same. Nothing has changed on that front. The only thing that has changed is the addition of political correctness based on which the film hopes it can get away with negative reviews.

You are in for a surprise, my friend. The film is still as much a waste of time as it was a decade ago.
